Introducing Team Member of the Month: Simon Grigorian

How being challenged helps him to feel driven

I enjoy being challenged, and challenging myself. I like being uncomfortable and there are a lot of goals and teams that push me to be in a place that makes me feel driven.

What does your ideal Saturday look like?

I start off waking up super late — I do some exercises, then I take a bath. I make sure the bath is filled with lots of eucalyptus salt and soap. I light up the bathroom with incenses and candles, then proceed to go eat like Grogu (baby yoda)! I make a delicious brunch. After this is all done, I head toward my computer to either be creative and work on my video game project, or be lazy and play some video games. I end the day with a nice dinner then I sit on the couch and watch a nice movie while eating sushi or drinking wine; I use to be a whiskey guy, but I switched to wine because I’m elegant nowadays.

What’s one of your favorite or proudest DISQO moments?

When I first joined DISQO I dockerized Survey Junkie and started the CI/CD pipelines to automate our legacy application’s deployment and integration process. I noticed efficiency arise immediately, and it makes me proud until this day.

What was the last TV show you binge watched?

The Book of Boba Fett on Disney Plus

What’s something most people don’t know about your role?

I sometimes cry myself to sleep depending on the issue that came about that day at work, JUST KIDDING. As a Software Engineer we’re tasked with several complex issues daily. I always smile when I see all the fantastic emojis from my team after resolving them!

Here are some of my favorite emojis:

Tell us one fun fact about yourself!

I write lots of fun and artistic Easter egg code and enjoy when other engineers find out about them!
