Terhi Norokorpi is a Sr. People Operations Specialist, overseeing culture and development for DISQO's Finland office.
The people. I love getting to know more about them, connecting with them, supporting them, and even teaching them new things - so they can concentrate on our business. I also get to organize fun events for us to enjoy. If I can make someone's day smoother, I'm very happy!
Our three cats have slept quietly through the night (you said ideal!) so I wake up refreshed at 9 am. The sun is shining and I have breakfast on the balcony, enjoying my plants and flowers and the communal garden below. Then, we'll visit antique fairs and second hand markets. In the afternoon, I'll read a book on my pretty balcony. In the evening, it's sauna and a swim in the pool, then a good film before bedtime, and some more reading in bed.
It's difficult to pick just one, but I want to say the Beyond Boundaries D&I ERG. It's given me insight into important experiences, but also the opportunity to get to know people I'd maybe not have met otherwise. I love connecting. It makes the world a little easier to navigate and boosts the feeling of belonging. I'm very proud of the group's International Women's Day webinar!
Major Crimes. I love police and hospital dramas, and the main character in Major Crimes, Captain Sharon Raydor, is a bit of an idol to me.
Being in People Ops - and the only representative in Finland - is so varied. I get to do a host of different things, like storing IT equipment and DISQO swag. I also help onboard our employees and contractors, not just us in Finland, so I get to connect with DISQO people all over the world!
My birthday is on January 1. I was the first baby of the year born in my hometown.
